This app might be the easiest to write about because I use it every day. Loseit is a weight loss app in which you input all of the food that you’ve eaten in the course of one day and according to your weight loss goals, it gives you a limit to follow. It’s easy in theory, however, as food is a highly emotional subject and limiting your intake could result in failure so here are a few tips in order to succeed at using it. Do count everything and be honest with yourself. Yes, this also includes what you drink whether it be soda or alcohol because those calories are critical in losing weight. Cook, and don’t give the excuse that you can’t because if you’re reading this right now you can cook. Reading a recipe and following directions is all it takes to cook.

If you have all this in mind and want to continue with living a healthy life style, this app is critical in aiding in your quest. The first thing you’re going to want to do is set a goal between 1/2 a pound a week and 2 pounds a week. Anything over 2 pounds a week is unhealthy and is impossible to sustain long term. The key features in this app are many but here are a few of my favorites. The barcode scanner makes all of your excuses for not logging everything you eat completely useless. If you can spend 2 to 3 minutes scanning the barcodes of the foods you eat you can utilize this app to it’s fullest. A breakdown of meals and how many calories you have left for each. Charts and graphs of food, nutrients, weight, BMI and so much more. You can input recipes and, probably my favorite aspect of the app, your wearable fitness tracker syncs to the app.

I should also mention that it’s UX is very easy on the eyes and works exactly as you’d want it to. Its orange and white display give it an ultra clean view into all of the parts of the app that you’ll be looking at every day. So if you’re super committed to losing a few pounds I highly recommend this app. I know there are a bunch of other apps like it but this is the one I personally have been using for a long time. It’s free to download and its premium aspects are totally worth the money. Definitely, give it a try and if it works for you let me know what your favorite features are in the comments below.
